Why AY Won't Perform At My Show - Basketmouth

Renowned comedian Bright Okpocha, widely known as Basketmouth, has extended an olive branch to his former rival and colleague, AY Makun, inviting him to his upcoming concert in Lagos. This gesture comes after Basketmouth publicly apologized to AY, effectively ending their 17-year-long feud.

Despite this reconciliation, Basketmouth clarified that AY won’t be performing or making an appearance on stage during the event scheduled at the Eko Hotel & Suites tonight, citing the scripted nature of the show.

During an interview with Arise TV, Basketmouth shared, “AY is attending the event, though he won’t be performing as he’s not on the bill. I sent him his ticket a few days ago.”

Explaining further, he stated, “In reality, the lineup doesn’t include many comedians. Bovi will be introducing me. Senator, Dan The Humorous, and Aproko from Abuja are slated to perform. Additionally, we have a few talents coming in from Ghana.”

Basketmouth emphasized that due to the show’s scripted nature and the recording for TV, AY wouldn’t have a cameo either. “My show has already been meticulously planned. It’s a three-hour set, and the production team just arrived a few days ago. The entire flow of the show was established even before their arrival. It’s a tightly scheduled event where precision and perfection are paramount.”
