Recall that a photo posted by Cristiano Ronaldo earned over 19.8 million likes to become the most liked picture by an athlete.
It was reported that the previous record was a post the Juventus forward made in tribute to former Argentine great Diego Maradona after his death in 2020.
However, in celebrating his nation’s Copa triump, Lionel Messi has broken this record according to Give Me Sport.
According to the sport media, a post from Lionel Messi has earned more likes than that of Ronaldo.
The caption of Messi’s post reads;
