Nigerian Bank To Reduce 75% Of Its Employees, Yemi Alade Reacts

Renowned Nigerian artist, Yemi Alade, dismisses comparisons between herself and fellow singer, Tiwa Savage.

The ‘Johnny’ sensation took to her X (formerly Twitter) page to express her delight in performing at the opening ceremony of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast. However, when a fan suggested she was superior to Tiwa Savage, Alade responded by discouraging such comparisons and encouraging support for both artists.

Expressing her dissatisfaction with the fan’s comment, Alade emphasized the importance of celebrating both artists, highlighting that they are both successful in their own right.

In response to the fan’s statement, “U better than Tiwa [Savage],” Yemi Alade stated, “Comparison is the thief of joy. We’re both winning… celebrate and support us all.”

This perspective reinforces the idea that unity and mutual support within the music industry lead to collective success rather than pitting artists against each other.
