One of the most popular TV show back then in Nigeria, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire TV Game Show was suspended in 2017 and this is why it was suspended in Nigeria.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was an educative television program graced the screens of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and other major stations across the country. The program was a TV game show which was a source of entertainment and knowledge to many between the period it was aired.

In 2017, the great show was suspended much to the dismay of fans and lovers of the show as well as the public at large.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is a Nigerian game show which was based on the original British format of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. It first aired on 8 october 2004 and was suspended on 25 June, 2017.

However, the game show captivated many Nigerians and kept them glued to their television set. This was as a result of what the show offered; Informative, educative, suspenseful, thrilling and a host of other similar adjectives could easily fit in to the decription of this show.

The lovely show, which always presented by the talented TV host, Frank Edoho, was quite popular among Nigerians back then. Hardly, could you find a person who didn’t know about the show.

One of the major sponsors of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire which was produced by Ultima Limited was telecommunications giant, MTN.

In June 2017, Frank Edoho announced that the show is going on a temporary break, an announcement which came as a surprise to many. The question on the lips of most fans was why did such an entertaining show had to be canceled?

However, according to reports, Frank later took to his twitter account to reveal the cause of the suspension is as a result of the withdrawal of sponsorship by MTN Nigeria which was the major sponsor.

So literally the show was put on hold as a result of lack of patronage from the Telecommunications giant.

Wiseloaded Media gathered that, the alleged reason why MTN pulled out of the show was as a result of the N330bn fine imposed on the company by the Nigerian Communications Commission.

However, the organizers of the show, Ultima Limited sometimes ago disclosed that they had secured a partnership with Airopay, a global international payments operator, thus would revive the show in some months time. We are still waiting for their coming back.
