EXPOSED!! Saraki Has Something To Reveal About Buhari’s Government

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki , has revealed the set of people in control of Buhari’s government and he once condemned the leadership style of President Buhari.

While speaking with PDP delegates in Oyo state yesterday September 18th, Saraki who has since declared his intention to run for president on the platform of the PDP in 2019, said Nigerians who voted President Buhari in 2015 had been shortchanged as it was a few people who constitute themselves as a cabal, are the ones running the affairs of the country.

He said;
”The President we have now does not understand leadership. We have endured him for more than three years but it is the same thing. Nigerians voted for him (Buhari) but a cabal is ruling the country. That is not what democracy means”.

“This time, let us look for who can do it. In Nigeria today, we do not have unity. What we need in the present world is a digital President. When your president sits with world presidents, he should be able to understand what they are saying. That is why presidents who have visited the country did not stay more than a few hours. But when they know that their host understands them, they will stay longer and explore investment opportunities inNigeria.”

Oyo Government Seals 12 Banks In Ibadan For Doing This Shocking Thing (Details Inside)

Oyo Government Seals 12 Banks In Ibadan For Doing This Shocking Thing (Details Inside)

Twelve banks in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, were sealed on Monday morning by the state’s Board of Internal Revenue for non-payment of Environmental Development Levy spanning over three years.

Two enforcement teams from the board stormed the banks to carry out the order.

However, some officials of the banks tried to prevent the teams from sealing their premises.

It took the intervention of combined security forces attached to the teams to ensure that the order was carried out.

The banks affected are located in Dugbe, Ring Road, Challenge, Jericho, Bodies, Mokola and Iyaganku areas of Ibadan.

The amount owed by the banks according to the board ranged from N800,000 to N5m. Many customers were unable to access the premises while those inside had to leave through alternative routes.

The Chairman of the board, Mr Bicci Alli, told our correspondent that the banks were given enough notice and time to pay what they owed the government.

He said, “We wrote letters to them to perfect their books but they did not do the right thing. We published reminders in two national dailies but we did not get their response.

“It is unfortunate that we had to use this method to force them to do the right thing. It is a continuous exercise that will end at the end of the week.”

Ekiti State Local Government Workers Begin Indefinite Strike

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Ekiti will begin an indefinite strike today.

The union said the strike followed the failure of the state government to honour an agreement signed recently at the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting of September 4.

NULGE also warned the outgoing Ayo Fayose administration against fresh recruitment when it had yet to clear the salary arrears owed workers. The union said after a meeting in Ado-Ekiti that the strike would be indefinite until all contentious issues were addressed. It warned that it would not hesitate to deal with any worker who disobeyed the directive.

A communiqué signed by the state’s President, Olubunmi Ajimoko, and Secretary, Suleiman Alero, expressed concern that salaries had remained static and pensions unpaid.
”We again wish to stress that additional burden should not be put on JAAC until our various arrears are cleared.

The case of those termed “hurriedly employed’’ in 2003 should serve as a lesson to all who remember history. In view of the insensitivity of this present administration, even at the point of winding up, when we feel that corrections of past errors should be made, it has become painfully obvious that no concrete agreement can be respected by this administration.

The union is therefore calling all its members in the 16 local governments, the related commission, boards and departments to proceed on an indefinite strike action from Friday. We humbly wish to stress that this position will only be reviewed when we see a physical evidence of the political will to alleviate our members’ predicament, especially payment of all arrears of our salaries,’’ the communique said.

PHOTOS+VIDEO: Oyo State Govt Demolishes Aiyefele’s N800m Music House

There was a week of rancour between the management of the building and the Oyo state government after a notice was served to the effect of demolition.

Oyo state government has demolished the popular musician, Yinka Ayefele’s N800 million music house, housing his radio station, Fresh FM, in Ibadan, Oyo state.

According to the Oyo government, the structure called Music House contravenes the physical planning laws of the state.
Music House is said to be “structurally defective/poses danger or constitutes a nuisance to the occupier or the general public”.

The notice served by the government expired on Wednesday and the demolition was slated for Thursday.
Toye Arulogun, Oyo commissioner for information, culture and tourism, said Music House violated the originally approved building plan.

Arulogun said contravention notices were served to all radio stations in the state in 2017. He said Music House ignored its request for an application for a new building plan.
Arulogun said the state government had also received petitions in regards to three accidents that took place around Music House.
Reacting to the proposed demolition exercise, Ayefele in a statement said the construction of Music House followed due process.

Ayefele said the state government is acting based on the prompting of some politicians he had sung against.

In an exparte motion , filed before Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, Ayefele sought for an order of the court restraining the state government from demolishing the property pending the determination of the suit.
He also stated that due process was followed in the construction of the structure while relevant approvals were obtained from the state’s departments and agencies associated with land and housing.

Justice I. Yerima, however, ordered the claimant to ensure service of the court process on the respondent and adjourned the case till Monday for the hearing of the exparte motion.

Yinka Ayefele Reacts As His Music House Is Marked For Demolition

Dr. Yinka Ayefele, the Chairman/CEO of Yinka Ayefele Ltd, owners of Fresh FM 105.9, has reacted to a statement by Oyo State Government which said that the Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, where the radio station is located, was served a demolition notice because it contravenes state planning laws.

According to Ayefele, the building did not contravene any building law because it has the necessary approvals from relevant government agencies. The government’s statement, issued by the Commissioner for Information, Toye Arulogun, said that the submitted building approval for Music House was actually meant for an office complex and not a radio station, and so contravened the Oyo State Physical Planning and Development Control laws, sections 30, 31 and 32 of the Oyo State Physical Planning and Urban Development Law of 2012.

According to Arulogun, the submitted approval from Music House deviated from the approved plan which in effect makes the approval null and void because deceitful information was given to the approving authority and also deviation from the approval granted both in construction and use.

The commissioner also stated that the government received petitions subsequent upon three fatal accidents that occurred around Music House in the last nine months, as the petitioners urged the government to look at the physical structure of the organization in relation to the dual carriage way which lends itself easily to accidents.

But in a swift reaction on Wednesday night, Ayefele said blaming accidents on that road on Music House was mischievous. Below is the press statement by Ayefele, published exactly as issued: Our attention has been drawn to a purported press release signed by Mr. Toye Arulogun, Commissioner for Information and Culture, Oyo State where he said that the Music House Complex Contravenes Planning laws and is responsible for three fatal accidents that occurred on the road in the last nine months on which the government have received petitions.

We want to make it clear that Music House followed due process in the construction of the building and got relevant approvals from state departments and agencies associated with lands and buildings.
Saying that Music House Complex is responsible for three accidents that occurred on the road in the last nine months is just an attempt by the Commissioner to run away from his shadow.

How can a reasonable person say that? It is not news that the
Governor of the state himself said some politicians came to him to
demolish the Music House Complex because Ayefele is not in their camp and he also sang against them.
We have the Governor on tape, so the Commissioner should look for another excuse. We know it is the Commissioner that is misinforming the Governor who we hold in a very high esteem.

The Commissioner has tried in the past to influence a change in our programmes saying some of our analysts should be replaced.
We want the general public to know that Music House has not in any way contravened any building plan law as the Commissioner has mischievously said.

Music House has been in existence for almost 10 years and we have all necessary documents backing the building from relevant government agencies. Some questions we need to ask the Commissioner are:

1. Why is the government collecting tenement rate from us when they know we contravened building plan law?

2. Why did the government approve the building plan when they know it will contravene the state housing law?

3. The Commissioner should tell us why the state is just realising
that the Music House building is the cause of accident along this
road. Perhaps it is also responsible for accidents on Ring road and other parts of the state.

4. If we actually contravened the building law, why did the Commissioner always send us press release for use on behalf of the government.

5. The Commissioner has featured on different programmes on our
station and has commended us for our professionalism same with
the Governor who heaped praises on us when he visited the station on October 6, 2016.
The Commissioner should look for another excuse and stop chasing shadows.

Signed: Dr. Yinka Ayefele Chairman/CEO Yinka Ayefele Ltd

Oyo State Government Installs CCTV Cameras, Street Lights At Black Spots

Oyo State Government has commenced the installation of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at some black spots and business districts in Ibadan metropolis.
Mr Femi Adedipe, Executive Secretary, Oyo State Security Trust
Fund (OYSSTF), disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Ibadan.

The state government had embarked on the project as part of measures to enhance the security architecture of the city.
Adedipe said that the state government had announced the
introduction of call centres and toll free lines through which security agencies could avail security information from the public at no cost to them.
He stated that government had also commenced the collection of
security levy from business premises, churches, mosques and corporate organisations in the state, with an estimated income of about N2b annually.
Oyedipe added that government has commenced a project
christened “Light Up Ibadan” through which street light would be
installed in major roads within the city.
According to him, all these are parts of the Safe City Project being
executed by the state government to enhance the security
apparatus of the state in terms of logistics.
“It will also enhance technical capabilities as well as nip crime and
criminality in the bud.”
He stated that the CCTV cameras had already been installed in
some areas in Ibadan metropolis, adding that the project would
soon be extended to other areas and business districts in the city.
The Executive Secretary said that the security levy, which was
expected to be collected had already taken off in four local
government areas of Ibadan.

Oyedipe listed the local government areas as Ibadan North-East,
Ibadan North-West, Ibadan South-West and Ibadan North.
He commended the affected corporate bodies for their response
rate to the clarion call by the government for them to partner with
it in its efforts at providing adequate security for the lives and
property of the citizenry.
“It is apparent that no government can single-handedly shoulder
the huge responsibility of funding security.
For this reason Gov. Abiola Ajimobi-led administration decided to
set up Oyo State Security Trust Fund in 2012.
“This is to serve as an avenue through which funds could be
raised for the improvement of the security architecture of the state.
“It is also in furtherance of this that government introduced one
per cent security tax on all the contracts executed on behalf of
state government.
This has also assisted the Security Trust Fund in the past years.
“I am convinced that by the time the security levy is spread to all
the local governments across the state, close to N2 billion would
be raked in annually to complement government’s efforts,” he said.
Oyedipe pointed out that a large expanse of land had been set
aside at the Trans Amusement Park in Ibadan for the sighting of
solar power for the ‘’Light Up Ibadan’’ project .
He said that the project would gulp about N750 million.
He also said that the project is in phases, adding that it had
received a boost from the CBN through the donation of N50 million
while other commercial banks also assisted with the sum of N250
million.

The Executive Secretary said that OYSSTF had donated 2,000
safety helmets to commercial motorcycle riders across the state.
According to him, OYSSTF has also embarked on regular repairs of
operational vehicles of the various security agencies and the state
security outfit codenamed ‘’Operational Burst’’ to enhance their
efficiency.
He assured the people that the government would continue to do
its best to ensure security of lives and property through a well
coordinated security arrangement and public-private partnership in
security funding.
