Manchester United vs Lyon’s match started with full attacking forces but ended the first half with goalless draw.
Man United claimed the 1-0 victory following Donny van de Beek’s 49th-minute opener.
Erik ten Hag’s side have been the better side in this second half, dictating almost all of the play. Dan Gore has been very bright since coming off the bench at the interval.
Who expected to see Jonny Evans don a United shirt again? Probably nobody. However, after returning to Carrington at the weekend to work on his fitness levels, he has signed a short-term deal, allowing him to play.
He stepped off the bench at half-time this afternoon and has not put a foot wrong.
Friendly or not, that goal meant the world to Donny van de Beek. The outpour of emotion was wiped across his face as he raced away to celebrate.
He will be hoping that marks the beginning of happier times for him.

After scoring one brilliant goal already, Donny van de Beek attempts to grab another one by trying to lob the Lyon goalkeeper.
A corner found its way through to him and he was brave enough to have a go, though it was an easy save for the ‘keeper in the end.
Dan Gore, who grabbed the assist for Donny van de Beek’s opener, and Joe Hugill have looked bright since coming off the bench at half-time.
The latter has spearheaded the attack really well over the past 12 minutes and has linked the play really nicely. Gore has been everywhere, covering almost every blade of grass.
What a start to the second half for United. Donny van de Beek, fresh off the bench, turns home a terrific volley after a brilliant cross from Dan Gore.
That will do the Dutchman’s confidence the world of good.
