Keffe D, Suspected Tupac Murderer, Granted $750,000 Bail

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, a 60-year-old former gang leader from the Los Angeles area implicated in the murder of the iconic American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur, has been given a bail of $750,000.

Initially arrested in September 2023 and charged with murder involving the use of a deadly weapon, Davis’s arrest occurred two months following a Las Vegas police raid on his wife’s residence in connection with Tupac’s murder.

On Tuesday, Davis appeared before a Las Vegas court for a hearing regarding his potential release on bail pending his criminal trial. His legal team argued that their client posed no threat to society and was not a flight risk if granted bail before the main trial. While maintaining his not-guilty plea, they contended that Davis’s comments about Tupac’s murder were solely for monetary gain and entertainment.

In opposition, the prosecutors portrayed Davis as a cold-blooded killer who should not be allowed back on the streets. Despite these arguments, Judge Carli Kierny ultimately decided to release him pending trial, setting his bail at $750,000. Additionally, Kierny specified that Keffe D would be under house arrest with electronic monitoring while awaiting trial.

Shakur tragically lost his life on September 7, 1996, in a drive-by incident in Las Vegas at the young age of 25. The case surrounding his murder has remained a topic of interest and speculation for decades, and Keffe D’s involvement adds a new chapter to this enduring mystery.
