Man United vs Tottenham Hotspur’s match started with full attacking forces.
Man United needed that instant response given the way they’ve hit the buffers when they’ve conceded equalisers recently under Rangnick.
Tottenham had taken control of this game but that’s a reminder that they are vulnerable defensively, as well. It does feel like United need to alter their defensive plan, however.
The wing-backs are being given space to attack and are holding their width, which is giving Son and Kulusevski room to run into between the centre back and full-back.
Tottenham’s equaliser was coming. United will feel gutted at how cheaply they got it and Darren Fletcher was wasting his time complaining to the fourth official.
It was a patent penalty and a consequence of bad defending. United have not been aggressive enough and, at the opposite end, calm enough.

Nobody is keeping the ball because they don’t have anyone to do it and, at this stage, not going to a back three looks like the wrong call.
Fred and Matic have been told to switch by Armas so Fred is closer to Tottenham’s left-hand side.
They’ve had a lot of joy down there but have also been quite active down the right and may be disappointed not to have created more via the wing-backs.
Manchester United are clinging on at times in defence and it is difficult to see them not conceding. Rashford and Sancho’s positioning without the ball is not right and Rangnick has just said something to Rashford.
