Chelsea star, Willian has backed his Brazil team-mate Fred to succeed in the Premier League with Manchester United.
The midfielder completed his £52million move to United on Tuesday and will compete in the Premier League against Willian, who plays for Chelsea and the Blues man has tipped his international teammate to excel with the Red Devils.
Asked whether 25-year-old Fred can make an impact at Old Trafford, Willian replied: “Of course, no doubt about that. He has a lot of qualities.
“He can improve (them) a lot. He goes to one of the best teams in the world. I am happy for him. I hope he does well at Manchester United.”
Willian added: “He is very happy to come to the Premier League to play. We talked a little bit about that.
“He is excited to start but now is the time to think about the World Cup. I think he is very happy but now it is time to think about national team.”
Brazil play Austria in their final warm-up game on Sunday before starting their World Cup campaign in Russia with a match against Switzerland on June 17.
Willian and Fred both featured as Brazil beat Croatia 2-0 at Anfield last weekend.
