Nigerian music sensation, Fireboy DML, also known as Adedamola Adefolahan, reflects on 2023 as a pivotal year that’s reshaped his outlook on life. In a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, he shared how this year, despite being relatively slower in terms of musical ventures, has prompted him to embrace a different mindset—one focused on appreciating the abundance of blessings rather than constantly chasing further success.
“This year has been a significant lesson for me,” Fireboy expressed. “It’s encouraged me to pause, take a breather, and truly value the blessings bestowed upon me by God, rather than tirelessly pursuing more and more success.”
Acknowledging the comparative slowdown in his musical journey this year, he remarked, “The pace allowed me to reassess things, urging me to step down from the high-speed pursuit and savor the present moment. It’s about recognizing the importance of family, relishing the wealth amassed, and finding contentment in the simple joys around me instead of relentlessly pursuing success.”

Revealing his current routine, Fireboy shared, “This year, I’m taking it easy. I find solace at home, pouring my creativity into studio sessions. Sundays are for football, and occasionally, I reconnect with the company of friends. It’s about finding that balance and relishing life’s little pleasures.”
