Nigerian musician and songwriter, Sadiq Onifade, widely recognized as WurlD, recently shared insights into his decision to give his track, ‘Blow My Mind,’ to Davido, which later featured American R&B sensation Chris Brown in 2019.
During a recent interview with 3Music TV in Accra, Ghana, WurlD revealed that he penned the song, which ultimately became a hit collaboration between Davido and Chris Brown, out of a unique circumstance.
In his own words, “Giving ‘Blow My Mind’ to Davido wasn’t part of a preconceived plan. I was in Lagos, actively promoting my own project, ‘Love Is Contagious,’ when I received a call from producer Shizzi. The decision was quite spontaneous because, initially, I had intended to use the song for myself. However, due to time constraints while promoting my new project, I couldn’t give it the attention it deserved.”

“At that point, I didn’t have an immediate use for ‘Blow My Mind.’ Collaborating with Davido and Chris Brown was an opportunity to share my artistry with fellow musicians and witness the song’s remarkable success,” he added.
The move to collaborate unexpectedly allowed WurlD to explore a creative exchange that resulted in the song’s widespread acclaim and success.
