Renowned Yoruba actor, Adedeji Aderemi, fondly known as Olofaina, has passed away at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy in the world of epic Yoruba movies.
Originally hailing from Ede in Osun State, Olofaina made Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, his home for many years, captivating audiences with his performances in several iconic Yoruba films. His roles in classics like “Ogbori Elemoso,” “Ayanmo,” “Bashorun Gaa,” “Afonja,” “Lagbondoko,” and “Balogun Ibikunle,” produced by Biodun Eleni-Latinwo, among others, cemented his place as a revered figure in Yoruba cinema.
Confirming the actor’s passing, his close associate, Chief Musiliu Dasofunjo, also known as Baba Jogunomi, conveyed the news to WISELOADED, stating that Olofaina passed away on Thursday evening.

Reflecting on the loss, Dadofunjo shared, “He died this evening. He has a house in Ibadan but he has returned to Ede where he passed away at the age of 74.”
Olofaina’s contributions extended beyond the silver screen; he held significant titles in his hometown. Formerly the Solaloju of Ede, he was later honored as the Majeobaje of Ede, highlighting his influence and standing within the community.
