Return Of Schools: Akeredolu Should Not Rob Ondo Through Back Door

Residents residing near Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s home in the Jericho area of Ibadan remain uncertain about the reported passing of the Ondo State governor.

According to Report, Akeredolu, aged 67, reportedly passed away on Wednesday morning in Germany following a prolonged battle with Leukemia.

At around 10:15 am, a NAN correspondent who visited the governor’s residence observed only security personnel present.

An elderly local vendor positioned in front of the governor’s residence initially claimed unawareness of his demise. However, after receiving a phone call from a member of Akeredolu’s family, she expressed the possibility of the news, breaking into tears. She fondly remembered Akeredolu’s generosity, citing how he had encouraged her to manage her kiosk and even gifted her N50,000 for Christmas.

Neighbours of Akeredolu, speaking anonymously to NAN, expressed disbelief at the news of his passing. One of them insisted, “Aketi is alive; media should refrain from spreading false news. There’s no activity in the house besides security personnel, indicating Baba’s absence.”

Another neighbour, a woman, acknowledged hearing the rumor but hoped it wasn’t true. She praised the late governor’s kind and generous nature, noting his simplicity despite holding the position of governor.
