Zinedine Zidane’s shock resignation from Real
Madrid will no doubt leave plenty of interest in
his services. However, his suitors are apparently
interested in him as a player as well as manager!
Ligue 1 side Amiens SC just completed the season in 13th
place took to Twitter to appeal the former Real Madrid manager to
come play for them.
After news of Zidane’s resignation broke, the team took to Twitter
to offer themselves up as a potential landing spot.
However, Amiens manager Christophe Pelissier need not worry –
not only is a team like that is unlikely to secure the services of
Zidane the manager, the offer was for Zidane to return to the field
as a player!
The tweet said: “Zinedine, If you want to come back into service
as a player, we’re up for it!”
Zidane last suited up as a player in the 2006 World Cup and
retired immediately following defeat in the final, so he is going on
12 years since taking the field in an official game.
