RB Leipzig vs Liverpool‘s match started with full attacking forces.

Darwin Nunez’s four second half goals propelled Liverpool to a dominant 5-0 preseason win away at Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig.

Mo Salah’s early strike rewarded a positive start for Jurgen Klopp’s side at the Red Bull Arena as they gear up for the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss was unconcerned by their loss to Manchester United, and he rubbished criticism of Nunez, following a few high profile misses against the Red Devils.

Nunez’s confidence never looking in danger of dipping, with Klopp hailing his ability to ignore the noise, in a praise-filled post match interview.

What will be interesting is whether or not Klopp deems his new £85m centre forward ready to start against Manchester City next weekend.

This season is likely to be one in which managers will have to call upon players who would otherwise be traditionally regarded as fringe players. An indication of this was perhaps given by the involvement of Harvey Elliot and Fabio Carvalho, who both assisted four-goal man Nunez.
