Why Man Utd managers after Sir Alex Ferguson failed – Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Ratcliffe Reveals Manchester United’s First Summer Signing.

Manchester United has its sights set on bolstering its squad with a promising young left-back this upcoming summer transfer window.

Throughout the season, the Red Devils have faced challenges due to injuries to key players like Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, disrupting their defensive lineup.

Under manager Erik ten Hag’s helm, the absence of a conventional left-back has posed tactical hurdles for much of the campaign.

In a bid to address this gap, Manchester United secured the services of Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur on loan last August when Shaw was sidelined for three months. However, Reguilon returned to Spurs in January.

This decision stemmed partly from the medical team’s anticipation of Malacia’s return from a knee injury sustained in May. Unfortunately, Malacia has encountered multiple setbacks, making his return this season unlikely.

Meanwhile, Shaw, who has been out with a hamstring injury, is anticipated to make his comeback in May, offering a ray of hope for the Red Devils’ defensive line.

In recent matches, Manchester United has deployed Victor Lindelof in the left-back role, that’s how he played against Everton on Saturday demonstrating the team’s adaptability in coping with absences. However, the absence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, currently sidelined, underscores the urgency for reinforcements in defense.
