Emmanuel Petit named Potential Candidates to Replace Pochettino as Chelsea Manager.
Former France midfield maestro Emmanuel Petit has weighed in on the managerial situation at Chelsea, suggesting that Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso could be an ideal successor to Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino has faced scrutiny at Stamford Bridge following a disappointing debut season in charge.
According to Petit, Alonso, who has been linked with the Liverpool managerial role, might be a better fit for the Blues.
Under Alonso’s guidance, Bayer Leverkusen currently leads the Bundesliga standings, enjoying a five-point lead over Bayern Munich.
Speaking to Betway, Petit stated, “Chelsea requires a manager with a clear vision, similar to what [Mikel] Arteta has brought to Arsenal. However, they must afford him the time to instill his philosophy with the squad.”

“Mourinho is available, making him a viable option. Nevertheless, he’s not my top choice. There are emerging managers who are making significant strides. Take Xabi Alonso, for instance. His managerial prowess in Germany has left a lasting impression on me. Yet, there are numerous talented managers in the market.”
“Mourinho could be considered due to his past success at the club. However, his arrival often accompanies controversy. Chelsea might benefit from a more composed figure, emphasizing stability and continuity.”
