Oyo Assembly Speaker: 32-year-old Adebo Emerges The Post

The Ibarapa East State constituency representative in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin, has emerged Speaker of the House.

Adebo, a second term lawmaker, emerged as the Speaker shortly after Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the Assembly on Monday morning.

The 32-year-old came to the 8th Assembly last year after he won the by-election which was held after the death of the former Speaker, Mr. Michael Adeyemo who died on Friday, 27th April 2018.

He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He also won the March 9th House of Assembly election and got elected to the present 9th Assembly.

Adebo emerged unopposed with a unanimous voice vote of the 32 members Assembly.

It was reported that the new Speaker is an alumnus of Babcock University.

He is an Agronomist by profession.

Adebebo Ogundoyin is one of the sons of the late foremost philanthropist and industrialist, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, a native of Eruwa in Oyo State.

The new Speaker is a football lover and fan of Manchester United.
