Ondo Governor's Office Deserted, Offices Shut Over Akeredolu's Death

Upon receiving the distressing news of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s passing, the ambiance surrounding the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, Akure, the capital of Ondo State, turned solemn.

While there hasn’t been an official announcement from the government confirming the governor’s demise, numerous sources, preferring anonymity, have validated the news.

Governor Akeredolu had been bravely combating leukemia, a form of blood cancer, until it eventually led to his passing.

The usually vibrant hub of activity at Alagbaka now sits eerily quiet, despite it being the first workday following the Christmas break.

When WISELOADED visited the state secretariat, only security personnel stood guard at the entrance to the governor’s office, contributing to the prevailing sense of melancholy. Many offices remained closed, mirroring the profound loss and grief engulfing the state.
