Barrister Chris Agidy, the Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North, who was abducted by bandits in 2023, has tragically been confirmed dead.

SP Josephine Adeh, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, conveyed this sad news to DAILY POST on Tuesday.

In November 2023, gunmen abducted at least 19 individuals from their residences in the Galadimawa area of the nation’s capital.

Earlier reports suggested that 12 of the kidnapped victims had been slain. However, the identities of the deceased remained unclear as Senator Nwoko and security forces relentlessly pursued efforts to secure the release of the victims.

Confirming the distressing development on Tuesday, the FCT PPRO revealed that the lawmaker’s aide fell victim to one of the notorious kidnappers, Samaila Wakili, who has been wreaking havoc in the capital city.

Wakili was apprehended on February 24 in the Sardauna Forest, located in the Toto area of Nasarawa State, by diligent police operatives.

Upon his arrest, the suspect divulged crucial information leading law enforcement to the whereabouts of Barr. Chris Agidy’s remains.

The FCT PPRO disclosed that “the remains were recovered and deposited at Gwagwalada General Hospital.”
