Man City vs Brentford’s match started with full attacking forces.
A great half of football for the natural but not so much for City. Brentford have taken the game to the BLues and should have had more goals than just Toney’s opener before a late howitzer from Foden levelled the scores.
Manchester City desperately needed that goal. Brentford have been by far the better side and are desperately unlucky not to lead.
The goal came out of nothing, really, but City have players who can produce moments of quality and that was a brilliant finish by Foden. Man City need to take advantage of finding themselves level after playing so badly.
Man City are level just before the break as Foden fires in a rocket after the ball falls to him at a corner.

Not only is the goalkeeper quick to take another high ball off Toney’s head but he then launches an inch-perfect 50-yard pass out of his hands to De Bruyne.
The chance eventually comes to nothing with Haaland not able to reach a cross but wow.
De Bruyne manages to set a team mate away for the first time adn it’s Foden who gets in the box and sees his powerful shot saved.
City usually respond well when they concede, but it’s been all the same pace since Toney’s goal. It was always going to be a line-up that favoured a slow build-up, but that’s not actually what’s needed now. Brentford are just fighting harder for every ball and City don’t have an answer yet.
The visiting fans are making it clear that they think Ivan Toney should be in the England squad, with one chant in particular calling Gareth Southgate something unsavoury.
