Man Utd £91m Bid Rejected For African Player Of The Year Nominee

Manchester United £91million bid rejected by Napoli for the 2018 African Player of the year nominee Kalidou Koulibaly.

The 27-year-old Senegal international have been linked with a move away from Stadio San Paolo last summer with Jose Mourinho desperate on bringing new centre-back in the January transfer window after Man Utd have already conceded 21 times in the Premier League this season from 13 matches.

According to Corriere dello Sport reporting that Manchester United up their initial £77m offer by £14m for Koulibaly which would make him the world’s most expensive defender but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to have “immediately” rebuffed their approach as he is unwilling to part with former Metz and Genk star.Mourinho has ordered the sale of Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo to fund the transfer of Koulibaly who current deal does not expire until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.Koulibaly is one of just two players in Europe to have played every minute of football so far this season and Serie A runner-up have conceded just 13 goals in the league with the Senegalese in the team this season.
