British Council Raises IELTS Fees in Nigeria for 2024.
The British Council in Nigeria has recently announced a second fee increase for the English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination within a span of five months.
In an official statement posted on its website, the council revealed that the revised fees, set at N139,000 for both the computer academic and general training modules, will be applicable from February 1, 2024.
This adjustment has been attributed to the escalating costs associated with conducting the examinations. The council clarified the rationale behind the decision, stating, “We would like to inform you that our IELTS fees have been reviewed. The new price list of the IELTS range of tests offered by the British Council will be effective for registrations on or after February 1, 2024.”

It is noteworthy that this fee revision follows a previous increase in September 2023, when the charges escalated from a range of N80,000 to N90,000 to the current N107,500. The British Council continues to adapt its pricing structure to account for the evolving examination expenses. Stay tuned for any further updates on IELTS fees in Nigeria.
