INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY SUMMARY: A MUST TO READ FOR ALL YOUTH-LOVING INDIVIDUAL

The international Youth Day organised by the Nigerian Youth Parliament in partnership with Center for Values in Leadership.

Venue: Chaterred institute of Bankers Nigeria (CIBN) victoria island Lagos. Today, 15th August 2019

Theme: Transforning Education

The program was impactful and Great. So inspired and I decided to share just a little of the knowledge, my participations, observations, and opportunities in today’s program.

Also, to awake our conscienceness in (Transforming Education) and challenge you as a society /individual to take responsibility in Transforming Education in this country.

However, I will try to be brief because of individual tight schedule, take a minute to read through please.

No child should be out of school” Yes, and it’s very realistic with or without the government. It’s high time we shift some blame away from the government.

Do you know you can send so many “dropped out” children back to school from primary to secondary school education through RECLYING?

Even the poorest but healthy parents can send their children back to school through RECLYING To know more about this you can contact me.

What is more important here is for you to join the “NO CHILD MUST BE OUT OF SCHOOL CAMPAIGN

So many people are pounding it on mind right now that How does that affect me?

Afterall, my own children are going to good schools and doing well The children we left untrained today will definitely hurt the society tomorrow.

No wonder kidnappers, boko-haram, and suicide remain the order of the day.

  • Education should be seen as Future security not just basic amenities/infrastructure. The dropped out rate is highly increasing.
  • Quality of Education is also at alarming stage, let’s not pretend as if we don’t know. Education is the bedrock of a nation The best thing a nation can build is the “Youth”

Do you know you can devote and commit your time to improve quality of Education in your society?

  • Readiness of the children is nothing to write home about, most children get discouraged for education with one thing or the other and the readiness for education is no more there.

Do you know you can motivate a child (just one) with a token as low as #600 per month?

  • Youth getting it wrong – A lot of youth are getting it wrong by misplacing priorities. As beautiful, inspiring and well youth packaged as this program was,the youth turn-out was poor.

This is not the fault of both NYP and CVL (as both youth and leadership organizations) but the mind of our youth.

“Put a great mind in a cubicle, it will expand it and make it a world, put a small mind in a the world, and it will compress it to a cubicle”.

Great minds and educational minded souls were fully gathered to impact lifes (no registration fee, in a very conducive environment, drinks and chops available, enough opportunities) and the turn out was very poor unlike Davido coming to sing where nothing goes for free, Imagine!

Do you know you can sponsor more youth to leadership trainings?

  • Parenting duties are not left out in Transforming Education. Education of a child starts at home. You must be your children’s teacher. Your ward education (most especially primary and secondary education) is your full and direct responsibility.

If your children assists you at what you do,fine but consider and fix a time they sit down write their assignment and rest the brain for the other day.

  • I won’t skipped The great Teachers to stop being a subject/classroom teacher but motivators, mentors to the children they teach.

I hope you find this useful but not a stress?
