Chelsea won the first half of the game with one goal to nothing. They doubled the chances at the middle of second half before the home team returned one.

Hull City coach, Grant McCann made four changes to the team after their 1-0 loss to Derby County last time out.
Tom Eaves, who scored a hat-trick in the third-round, comes in along with McKenzie, Honeyman and Wilks, who makes his first start for Hull since joining on loan. Irvine and Magennis drop to the bench.

Frank Lampard almost makes a complete changes to his team that drew 2-2 against Arsenal on Tuesday with eight changes.

It’s a very strong starting line-up. Azpilicueta, Kovacic and Hudson-Odoi all retain their places, and he does have Willian, Emerson and Christensen on the bench.

Mateo Kovacic was given time on the ball throughout. He took full advantage of the chances, threading a lovely ball into Mason Mount who was denied by a smart long save on the half-hour, with the Hull ‘keeper already denying Barkley from a similar distance.

Some minutes before the break Hull saw their first sniff of goal when Tom Eaves controlled a Herbie Kane ball on his chest, turned and shot but Azpilicueta’s block took the sting out of his effort. That would have levelled the scoreline and balance the game again.

The home team re-emerged for the second half as brightly as they had the first.

This time kept up their front-foot mentality and gave Jarrod Bowen far more of the ball.
