Rashford has done pretty well for a player who has looked incapable of completing 90 minutes over the last month.
He’s shouted a couple of expletives amid United’s lateral passing and that selfishness there was justified. He opened up the angle to justify the attempt at Peacock-Farrell’s goal.
Rashford works the ball from a tight angle and tests the Burnley goalkeeper. Not surprising it was from his preferred left side.
In the space of a minute Fernandes has been shoved towards an advertising hoarding by Tarkowski, fouled by Cork and had the ball booted at him by Brownhill.
It may be a coincidence, but it would be no surprise if Burnley were trying to intimidate him. They’re unlikely to get much joy, however. Fernandes can get angry and frustrated on the pitch, but he tends to exact his revenge in front of goal.
In the first quarter of this game we’ve seen why Burnley have such a good recent record at Old Trafford. They’ve caused a moment of panic at the back with a piece of direct play and an old-fashioned centre forward sticking his head where it hurts and they’ve been difficult to break down at the back.
A lot of United’s play is being funneled right to Wan-Bissaka, at Burnley’s behest as they leave him free, and he’s yet to really pick a pass that break open the lock.

It’s difficult to be engaged by this game when a major story that involves United is exploding like fireworks. Rashford has just expressed his dismay at not getting the ball quickly enough.
Fortunately, his movement looks fine and he does not appear to be constrained by his foot injury.
The more Pogba is on the ball, the better. The Frenchman was outstanding against Tottenham and he’s slowly getting into this game.
