Davido’s Instagram post requesting birthday cash gift read, “We rise by lifting others abi? Me I don dey rise dey lifting others for the past 100 years. So, I want to know who my friends are. All of my friends one one million Naira. They said we are 30BG. Suppose you don’t send your own, you out of here. You are gone (sic).”
Initially, Davido’s post where he requested N1 million donations was taken as a huge joke. Still, it took an exciting twist within an hour when he reportedly said he had received over N53 million, and the funds kept hitting the account he provided.
Billionaire Femi Otedola was one of the early donors, but the amount was not disclosed. Renowned socialite and entertainment grand-master Obi Cubana responded early also with an undisclosed amount, just as he did not say what others, including Patoranking and E-Money, lodged.
Hopefully, he may give the money out; he has been known to be a giver.
