Jamie Carragher Urges Manchester United to Part Ways with Struggling Casemiro

Carragher Criticizes Manchester United Players After 4-0 Defeat to Crystal Palace: “Just Shut Up, You’re Embarrassing”.

Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher didn’t hold back when discussing Manchester United’s humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday. Carragher expressed his disdain for the behavior of United players on the pitch following the match, urging them to leave the field quietly and reflect on their performance.

Carragher took aim at players such as Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Antony for whispering and gesturing on the pitch after the crushing loss. He called their actions embarrassing, emphasizing that they should have headed straight to the tunnel without further comment.

“Just get off the pitch! Talking, whispering behind your hand—you’ve been absolutely awful,” Carragher exclaimed during his commentary on Sky Sports. “You’re probably discussing one of the players, the setup, or the manager. Just get off the pitch, shut up, and go in.”

The outspoken pundit continued his critique, emphasizing the severity of the defeat and the unacceptable nature of Manchester United’s performance. “You’ve been beaten 4-0,” he said, “and you’re whispering, talking about other players. Honestly, it’s embarrassing.”

Carragher went on to highlight the significance of the loss, noting that no Manchester United team, regardless of age group, should suffer a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. “Man United’s U23 team, I’d still expect them not to lose 4-0,” he asserted.

The match saw Palace’s Michael Olise score twice, while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also found the back of the net, sealing Erik ten Hag’s side’s fate with an emphatic defeat. Carragher’s comments underscore the challenges facing United as they work to improve their performance and regain their stature in the league.

In the aftermath of the match, Carragher’s blunt assessment serves as a wake-up call for the Manchester United players and coaching staff. The team must confront their shortcomings and work together to address the issues highlighted by Carragher if they hope to turn their season around.
