Brentford has announced the signing of attacker Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth in a club-record transfer worth £42m, including add-ons.
The 23-year-old has joined the Bees on a five-year contract, keeping him at the Gtech Community Stadium until the summer of 2030.
A Versatile Attacker
Ouattara’s arrival will strengthen Brentford’s attacking options, offering versatility in the final third.
He can play on either flank or as a centre-forward, providing a valuable asset for the team.
A Surprise Signing
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews expressed his delight at Ouattara’s signing, admitting that he was surprised the deal was possible.
“We’re really happy to get Dango in,” Andrews said. “He’s someone that we were aware of, and once we knew that signing him might be a possibility, we really focused on trying to get him in.”
A New Chapter for Ouattara
Ouattara will look forward to his next steps in West London after registering 11 goals and nine assists in 88 competitive appearances for Bournemouth.
His signing could also pave the way for Yoane Wissa to complete his proposed move to Newcastle United.
Breaking Down the Numbers
The £42m deal makes Ouattara Brentford’s record transfer, surpassing the £30m paid for Igor Thiago last summer.
The investment in Ouattara demonstrates Brentford’s commitment to strengthening their squad and competing at the highest level.
