Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz Jnr : Joshua beats Ruiz on points in Saudi Arabia to reclaim his world heavyweight titles.
British boxer, Anthony Joshua has defeated defending champion, Andy Ruiz Jr to reclaim his world heavyweight titles which he lost in June.
Joshua won by unanimous decision as the three judges gave him the fight. Two cards have it 118-110, the other 119-109 – all three in are favour of Anthony Joshua.
Anthony Joshua got his revenge against Andy Ruiz Jnr in their rematch. He earned a fortune in doing so.
The Brit, who suffered a shock defeat to the Mexican-American in Madison Square Garden six months ago, produced a boxing masterclass in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night to become a two-time heavyweight world champion.
Joshua won by unanimous decision as the three judges gave him the fight.
He is the heavyweight champion of the world once more!
Joshua reclaimed WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles in front of 15,000-capacity Diriyah Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Mexican had knocked out Joshua in seventh round in June 2019 to claim the WBA, IBF and WBO titles, but a determined Joshua fought excellently well in Saudi Arabia to reclaim his titles from Ruiz.
While reacting to the victory, Anthony Joshua said;
“Shout out to the travelling fans. I’m just appreciative of the journey and for the fans that witnessed history. It’s about everyone involved and I’m just humbled. I know certain people had doubts but I didn’t.
“Don’t ever doubt yourself. Life is a roller coaster. If you want to win at life every time, do not step in the ring. If you step in here, you are going to win and lose and that is life.
“As long as you are satisfied with yourself, no one can tell you anything. I have got along way to go.
“It’s not about me it’s about Britain. I used to train when I was on tag. We have taken boxing to the world and I’m always here to support grassroots boxing.”
