Obasanjo Is A Threat To Peaceful And Progressive Nigeria – RIFA

Obasanjo Is A Threat To Peaceful And Progressive Nigeria

Rights and Freedom Advocates (RIFA) received former President Olusegun Obasanjo usual repulsive and perfidious incitement against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with his usual treacherous move against any authority meant well for Nigeria. No normal person would not condemn the chief election-rigger Obasanjo for interfering in a fairly-conducted election in Nigeria.

In 2006, Obasanjo flew to Edo State where he ordered INEC to announce defeated People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate; Prof Osehemen Osunbor as the winner against the wish of the people. The same Obasanjo removed Senator Rashid Adewolu Ladoja illegally ditto to Joshua Dariye and Ayo Fayose for not supporting his devilish and perfidious agenda against the Nation.

While Mimiko contested under Labour Party for Governorship seat in Ondo State, election was in progress when Obasanjo directed INEC to announce results that declared PDP candidate the winner.

The atrocities of Obasanjo in election rigging made Umar Musa Yar’adua and Goodluck Jonathan to admit openly that Obasanjo was a serial election rigger that ushered them in 2007. His active participation in the annulment of June 12 1993 election with his cohorts including David Mark, T.Y Danjuma, Arthur Nzeribe etc is still fresh in our memory.

If Obasanjo thought he has monopoly of instigating violence or insurrection including annulment of election which does not favour his favoured loser-candidate, he should be reminded that 2023 awareness is not the same as 1993 situation when most people were oblivious of their demonic agenda which he pursued vigorously for 8 years as civilian President.

[adinserter block=”1″]

On his latest incitement and ridicule of INEC, RIFA call on the President and the Federal Government of Nigeria to place .on special watch list, Obasanjo cohorts in his criminal act such as Pastor Enenche of Dunamis Church who was instigating violence, on Sunday February 26, 2023, Nigerian Bar Association Chairman mentioned by Obasanjo as his co-traveller in his February 27 2023 tantrum, Mr Afe Babalola who has been echoing Obasanjo evil plot since 2022 and other criminal elements who believe they can foist their dullard candidate(s) on the sensible and patriotic Nigerians.

Even though there were isolated cases of electoral malpractices which were mainly perpetuated by Obasanjo candidate to the extent that they were forcing people to vote his candidate in the South East and South South including some parts of North Central and some electoral officers were caught in Lagos and some states altering election results in favour of Obasabjo candidate, yet patriotic elements did not call for cancellation of election results or postponement of election.

[adinserter block=”6″]

The gimmick of chief election rigger; Obasanjo, who has no rival in Nigerian history of election rigging cannot subvert the will of the people and plant his stooges to rig election in favour of his anointed fallen candidate.

Should Obasanjo misbehave, the State should put him where he belongs at least he has stolen enough federal resources including Presidential library he dubiously converted to personal property after duping the world of building a Federal project.

Obasanjo’s call on President Buhari to direct halting of the election result announcement is nothing but a coup and such a person should have been charged for treason . That is similar to the approach he and his criminal colleagues took when they perceived MKO Abiola was leading the 1993 election.

[adinserter block=”1″]

But this time, RIFA call on President Muhammadu Buhari who has won many international laurels for transparency and nationalism which Obasanjo couldn’t win to ignore the tantrum of the only good at election rigging former President Obasanjo.

Obasanjo toga of egotism must not be allowed to thrive again. So, Nigerians must resist attempt by Obasanjo to instigate them against a good process which he could not achieve during his reign of terror.

If anyone would have queried a free and fair election, it should not be the worst election rigger Obasanjo who is known for conducting the worst election in Nigerian history and bribing the National Assembly to foist his failed third agenda on the Nation after siphoning billions of dollars on phantom projects.

Lawmaker to INEC: Ensure Transparent Collation Process in Oluyole.

…as Akande Sadipe Leads Oluyole Federal Constituency Polls.

Member representing Oluyole Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure a transparent and credible collation process in Oluyole Federal Constituency.

Speaking after the polls held on Saturday in Ibadan, the Oluyole Federal constituency Representative, urged the electoral umpire to ensure the wish of the people is respected.

The Representative in a statement, signed by her Media aide, Olamilekan Olusada commended the efforts of INEC and all security agencies involved in ensuring a peaceful and transparent electoral process, urging all parties involved to maintain peace and order during and after the electoral process to ensure a free and fair election.

The statement also reads,

“We wish to update the public on the outcome of the recently concluded Oluyole Federal Constituency election. Despite reports of unrest and violence at two collating centers Olomi and Liberty Academy. We ask our APC members and constituents in these two wards to please stay calm”.

“It is important to note that out of the 229 polling units in the constituency, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was unable to conclude collation of 6 units in ward 7 and 1 in ward 2 due to the actions of opposition party thugs who stormed the two collation centers having received the news of Hon. Tolu Akande-Sadipes victory, armed with deadly weapons i.e guns etc, with the intent to do grievous harm. In the process the INEC officials fled the venues, with varying degrees of injury. Whilst the thugs destroyed election materials etc”.

“However, we can confirm that the overall result confirms APC’s Akande-Sadipe as the winner, as reported by the form EC8A(I) from the affected polling units and observers at the general collation center. It is important to note that no official announcement has been made by INEC, and the commission’s state office would make an announcement in due course”.

She reiterated that the Oluyole Federal Constituency election is not inconclusive as residents of Oluyole await INEC’s pronouncement.

Akande-Sadipe also wished all injured youth corpers, INEC staff and APC Party agents a speedy recovery.

#MUNNEW #NEWMUN #ManUtd #NewcastleUnited #MUFC #NUFC #EFLCup #EFLCupFinal #CarabaoCupFinal .

The EFL Cup Final match between Manchester United & Newcastle Utd started with full attacking forces.

Good save from Loris Karius! Antony does brilliantly in the Man United half and Casemiro sends it long for Wout Weghorst. He tries a curling, left-footed shot from the edge of the area, which is superbly tipped over the bar by the Newcastle keeper.

Fred, who has been booked, is again late on Longstaff, who yelps with pain. The Newcastle players want a red card, but there wasn’t that much in it.

Longstaff got to a bouncing ball a split second before Fred, kicking through Fred’s boot as a consequence.

It had to be Marcus Rashford! After combining well with Wout Weghorst, he runs at Sven Botman and hits it low left-footed.

[adinserter block=”1″]

The shot deflects up off the defender’s foot and Loris Karius can’t react quickly enough to stop the ball looping over him and into the net.

Newcastle work a neat short corner on the right. Eventually Trippier lifts a cross to Burn, who flicks a header wide under pressure from Shaw.

[adinserter block=”6″]

That was a chance, though Shaw did well to ensure Burn was off balance as he made contact.

Casemiro puts the Red Devils ahead! Luke Shaw’s free-kick from the left wing is right on the money, and Casemiro meets it to head past the despairing Loris Karius. VAR checks for offside, but the goal stands.

Poor Lorius Karius probably should have done better on the goal, though in his defence it took a pretty odd deflection. He was like a batter trying to hook a slower bouncer and mistimed his attempt to paw the ball away.

The match between Tottenham & Chelsea started with full attacking forces.

Chelsea have another fruitless pop at Forster from long range. Mudryk’s the player to try this time.

Ziyech initially sent off but VAR rescinds red card

Big save from Forster as Mount flicks Havertz through in the box. He grabs it before the Chelsea man can get a shot away.

The Spurs fans are in fine voice after that goal. Chelsea not showing much in way of a response so far.

What a start to the half for Spurs! Kepa saves Emerson’s low shot from the right of the box. The ball comes out to Skipp, who leathers it into the net off the crossbar!

[adinserter block=”6″]

Graham Potter watched that Harry Kane goal with his arms folded and little obvious discomfort. He then had a word in the ear of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he prepared to replace Joao Felix.

ALSO SEE: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid 1-1 Highlights (Download Video)

Good, I suppose, to keep your head as all those around you are losing theirs, but little sense that any late emotional lift for Chelsea is going to come from their manager.

[adinserter block=”1″]

Steady procession of away fans heading for the exits. Not a good sign.

Double change for Chelsea as Aubameyang and Mudryk come on for Felix and Sterling. Too little, too late?

Harry Kane makes it 2-0 and that is probably game, set and match. Son’s corner is headed on by Dier to the back post where inexcusably Kane is left unmarked and taps home for his 18th Premier League goal of the season

INEC quoted saying that presidential and National Assembly elections, which were held nationwide on Saturday, could not be conducted in the four areas of Yenagoa because the process was disrupted by protesters.

Why I Showed My Ballot Paper Voting For Tinubu – Buhari

Why I Showed My Ballot Paper Voting For Tinubu - Buhari

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed why he openly showed his ballot paper after voting in Daura, Katsina State.

Buhari said he displayed his ballot paper openly to show that he voted for the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

He said the display of his ballot paper was to demonstrate his allegiance to the party.

Buhari expressed his happiness over the massive turnout of people during the election.

According to Buhari:

“All over the place I mentioned my favourite candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu, and I believe my constituency will elect him 100 percent.

“Nigerians should make sure that they are respected; that means that the candidate they want to vote for they are allowed to vote for him.”

[adinserter block=”1″]

Prior to Saturday’s election, there were insinuations of an alleged rift between Buhari and Tinubu.

Tinubu had accused Buhari’s government of using the naira redesign and fuel scarcity to frustrate his presidential ambition.

However, Buhari had urged Nigerians to vote for Tinubu.
