Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, popularly known as Chike, has opened up about his preference for romantic relationships with older women, attributing it to their ability to communicate more effectively.
The ‘Running To You’ singer expressed his thoughts on relationships during a guest appearance on the Unpack Podcast hosted by NAY.
The 30-year-old artist emphasized his inclination towards older women, stating, “Most women struggle with effective communication until they’ve gained some life experience. It’s not often you find a younger woman who’s on that level, say, at 23.”
Chike highlighted the challenges of connecting with younger individuals, explaining, “If I’m involved with someone much younger, there’s often a disparity in what we value. It becomes about social media, snapshots, and less about meaningful connection or shared understanding.”
Acknowledging exceptions, he noted, “To be fair, there are mature younger women out there, but they’re rare. The depth I seek is often found more readily in older women.”
Discussing the dynamics of dating, Chike shed light on the increasing trend of men seeking relationships with older women, stating, “As one matures, seeking a certain level of tranquility becomes essential. In my experience, it’s typically the older women who bring that sense of calm.”

Reflecting on his own romantic history, Chike revealed, “My recent relationships have been with women older than me. I haven’t pursued relationships with younger women who might see me differently. Our paths and aspirations just don’t align.”
He clarified his openness to engaging with younger women, mentioning, “The only younger women I find myself conversing with are those dedicated to their careers, driven individuals with clear goals. I’m not drawn to those who lack direction or purpose.”
Chike’s perspective sheds light on his preference for relationships founded on shared values and deeper connections, favoring the maturity and life experiences often found in older partners.
