Barcelona defender, Pique says he would be very happy if the club can manage to pick Pogba from Manchester United before the end of the transfer window.
Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique says he would be ‘very happy’ if the club can manage to lure Paul Pogba away from Manchester United before the deadline of the transfer window. Clubs in Spain still have until the end of August to sign players, and the France international has been heavily linked to Barça after reports emerged that he is unhappy with life at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.
Despite United stating that Pogba will not be allowed to leave, Pique said he would welcome him to Camp Nou with open arms. “I don’t know about his relationship with Mourinho,”Spanish newspaper Sport quoted Pique.“We’ll see in the future, but we would be very happy to see Pogba in Barca’s shirt.
”Speaking further, he said,“Pogba is a very good player, but he is a Manchester United player right now, and we’ll see if anything happens in the future.
“We would be happy to have him here, but Manchester United is his club and, ifsomeone has to say something, it must be them.
”Pique, who left Old Trafford shortly before Pogba arrived at the club, has a history of enticing Barca targets to join the club, doing so with both Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.
Speaking this time last summer, the centre-back said of the pair: ‘I think players still want to join Barcelona, and they are showing that as is the case with Coutinho and Dembele.
‘One by putting in a transfer request andthe other with his actions at Dortmund. It suggests that they are both delighted about the idea of coming; they want to come.’
