Nigerian Poultry farmers have decried the price of maize, a significant feed for birds.
The Poultry Association of Nigeria, PAN, disclosed this on Monday in a statement jointly signed by the National President, Sunday Ezeobiora, and the Director-General, Onallo Akpa.
It was reported the worsening hardship for the masses over the persistent rise in inflation, which stood at 22.79 per cent in June.

Consequently, Poultry Farmers said the government’s failure to intervene would collapse the industry.
“The high surge in the price of maize and the near absence or scarcity of the product is causing farmers to close down their poultry farms because it is no longer sustainable to feed the birds and be in business.
“This is threatening the Nigerian poultry industry’s further development,” PAN stated.
