Jurgen Klopp has, as expected, rung the changes ahead of his side’s Champions League semi-final second-leg trip to Rome, making five changes to the team that blew Roma away at Anfield. Sadio Mane is not risked, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s season was ended prematurely in that game. Milner, Lovren and Robertson are rested. In their places, Ings, Gomez, Moreno, Klavan, and Wijnaldum start in what looks like it could be a 3-4-3, although the possibility remains for Alexander-Arnold to be used as a central midfielder in Klopp’s usual 4-3-3.
Stoke City substitutes: Geoff Cameron, Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher, Jakob Haugaard, Stephen Ireland, Tyrese Campbell, Ramadan Sobhi
Stoke City XI (4-4-2): Jack Butland; Erik Pieters, Bruno Martins Indi, Ryan Shawcross, Kurt Zouma; Moritz Bauer, Badou Ndiaye, Joe Allen, Xherdan Shaqiri; Peter Crouch, Mame Biram Diouf
Liverpool substitutes: Ben Woodburn, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, Simon Mignolet, Andrew Robertson, Dominic Solanke, James Milner
Liverpool XI (3-4-3): Loris Karius; Ragnar Klavan, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez; Alberto Moreno, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold; Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah
