Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay £79m to land Douglas Costa if Juventus do not take up the option to sign him permanently.
The 27-year-old Brazil international has impressed in Turin during his season on loan from Bayern Munich, scoring six goals and setting up 13 more in all competitions.
Juventus have so far paid £7m for Costa and have an agreement in place to sign him on a long-term basis for a further £33m.
However, The Sun says Manchester United are willing to pay £79m for Costa should the Serie A side fail to tie down the forward.
Jose Mourinho is expected to splash the cash this summer in hope of keeping up with Manchester City next season as United finished a staggering 19 points behind their arch-rivals in the Premier League this year.
