Arsenal have completed the signing of Matteo Guendouzi after wrapping up a deal for Lucas Torreira. The 19-year-old midfielder underwent a medical with the Gunners on Monday ahead of a £7 million move from Lorient.
According to L’Equipe, Guendouzi had attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, Roma and PSG but Unai Emery ensured that Arsenal won the race by convincing the midfielder to join the Premier League club.
Arsene Wenger’s successor had previously missed out on PSG
youngster Yacine Adli, who committed his future to the Ligue 1
champions last week having previously appeared destined to
complete a move to north London.
Guendouzi signed a four-year deal and was filmed penning his contract at the club’s Colney training base under the watchful eye of Sven Mislintat and Team Sky’s former commercial expert Huss Fahmy.
Earlier on Tuesday, Arsenal formally announced the £26m signing of Uruguay World Cup star Torreira who joined from Sampdoria.
Arsenal have now made five new signings already this summer with Stephan Lichsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Bernd Leno joining Torreira and Guendouzi
