President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for the disbursement of N12 billion to settle outstanding dues owed to Nigeria’s national sports teams, including the esteemed Super Eagles. This significant development was officially communicated through a statement released on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Center’s official channel.
The allocated funds are earmarked to address pressing financial commitments, particularly concerning the remuneration of senior national team coaches, clearing salary arrears spanning up to 15 months. Additionally, this substantial payment seeks to fulfill outstanding allowances and commitments owed to the senior national teams, female sports squads, and the Under-20 national team.
In an excerpt from the statement, it was articulated, “President @officialABAT has sanctioned the disbursement of N12 billion in pending dues for Nigeria’s diverse national sports teams, encompassing the revered Super Eagles and others.
