Alleged Herder-Killer in Oyo, Case Transferred to Oyo State Police Command CID as Police Restores Public Hope for Justice.
The case of an alleged herder-killer who is now at large after allegedly stabbing a farmer; Mr Sakariyau Olawuwo who sustained fatal injury on his head while working at his farm on Tuesday, 16th December, 2025 in Igboho, Oyo State. The victim eventually gave up the ghost at 1am on Saturday20 December, 2025 at General Hospital, Ilorin where he had been receiving intensive treatment.
While the alleged murderer was reported to be at large, his boss who was initially apprehended was allegedly released on the intervention of a Chief of the Town. Even though the case was hitherto not disclosed to the State headquarters of the Oyo State Police Command, Rights and Freedom Advocates (RIFA) intervention has rejigged the status quo.
On this, RIFA authoritatively confirmed that the matter has been transferred to the Oyo State Criminal Intelligence Department (SCID) following brief received by the patriotic PPRO; Mr Adewale Osifeso and the DCP in charge of the State CID; DCP Martins Bamigboye who promptly intervened and ordered the case to be transferred to the State headquarter for discreet attention.
The Oyo State Police Command intervention on the case has therefore restored the hope of citizens that justice may eventually be served as against repulsive approach the case hitherto received at the Divisional Police headquarter, Igboho. The citizens are assured that RIFA would continue monitoring the investigation and report where necessary. While Police is taking charge, RIFA implore members of public to go on with their normal activities but remain vigilant of the criminally-minded individuals.
