Delta Central elected senator, Ovie Omo-Agege has won the seat of deputy President of the 9th Senate.
Omo-Agege has 67 votes to defeat his rival, Senator Ike Ekweremadu who polled 37 votes.
Senator Ekweremadu who is the immediate past Deputy Senate President was surprisingly nominated by Chukwuka Utazi representing Enugu North Senatorial district.
Ekweremadu is of the PDP while Omo-Agege is of the ruling APC. He has been adopted by the APC and MB Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
