Former Super Eagles forward, Osaze Odemwingie has sent a strong warning message to Bafana Bafana of South Africa ahead of their quarter final clash against Super Eagles.
Odemwingie, who recently retired from football, reminded the South African people what happened the last time both teams met at the African Cup of Nations.
A South African, by name Zayne Nabbi, a South African recently mocked the Super Eagles in a tweet following Bafana Bafana shock win over host nation Egypt on Saturday, tagging Osaze, Kelechi Iheanacho and others.
He reminded the South African how he scored twice against them in the match that ended 4-1 in favour of Nigeria in 2004.
The Super Eagles will be playing the Bafana Bafana in the quater-finals in two days.
Nabbi had tweeted,
“No no no. We’ll have to school you like we did in qualifying @KelechiAFC @OdemwingieP @MimosaFawaz.”
And in response, Osaze quickly replied and said,
“Alright alright. The last time Nigeria played South Africa in afcon it was 4-1 and I scored two in two mins and it was also in North Africa and as they say history often repeats itself. Congrats to you guys though.”
In qualifying stages, Bafana Bafana defeated the Super Eagles 2-0 in Oyo during the qualifying stages of this year’s tournament and the two played out 1-1 draw in South Africa.
