National Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a global awareness campaign which is observed every year in the month of October with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of online safety among individuals, groups, communities and organisations.
In this year’s event, a non-profit organisation, Internet Safety Magazine, has urged users of internet to accept “online safety awareness” as a lasting solution to online risks such as internet fraud, identity theft, cyberbullying, social media hijacking, password hacking, online misinformation, online gaming addiction, online pornography addiction, among others.
The Founder of the organisation, Rotimi Onadipe, today, October 7, 2023, in his speech to mark this year’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, said:
“I thank the Almighty God for giving us the grace to witness this year’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. When we talk about Cybersecurity, it concerns all of us irrespective of age, sex, status, profession, tribe or location.

“There is no doubt that we are in the technology age and as long as we use the internet, we are not far from online risks. The good news is that online safety awareness is our lasting solution to any kind of online risk. If we can embrace it now, it will save us from many troubles.
“Cybercrime is expanding and cyber crooks are getting smarter every day in their criminal activities. So, in our society of today, online safety awareness is not an option but a necessity for all of us and we must embrace it now to save us from cyber crimes and other online risks.
“At Internet Safety Magazine, our mission is to prevent online risks and promote online safety education and awareness globally through our research, counseling and educative articles which are available online for anyone that has access to the internet.
“We have also made our educative articles about online safety to be easily accessible and reader-friendly. All you need to do is to search for “Internet Safety by Rotimi Onadipe” on google or other search engines. It is as simple as that.” Onadipe added.
