Atlanta’s Mayor Andre Dickens recently acknowledged the impactful presence of Nigerian-American music sensation, Davido, in the city’s entertainment scene. This recognition came in the wake of Davido’s headline performance at the State Farm Arena during the A.W.A.Y Festival in Atlanta.
In a significant gesture, Mayor Dickens, alongside the Atlanta City Council, officially declared November 18 as “Davido Day” to honor the singer’s contributions to music and his global influence.
Expressing gratitude and admiration for Davido’s widespread appeal, the Mayor conveyed a heartfelt message on the artist’s birthday, November 21, 2023. Prior to this, the Atlanta City Council had formally announced the declaration of November 18, 2023, as “Davido Day” in Atlanta, emphasizing the city’s appreciation for the artist’s cultural impact.
Furthermore, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners joined in recognizing Davido’s influence and contributions to the music and entertainment industry. They proclaimed November 21 as “Davido Appreciation Day” in Fulton County, Georgia, underscoring his remarkable impact on the county’s cultural landscape.
In a statement, the Board of Commissioners acknowledged Davido’s significant role and proclaimed November 21, 2023, as a day to appreciate his influence and contributions to Fulton County’s vibrant cultural tapestry.
