The Croatian international Luka Modric has signed a new one-year contract at Real Madrid, taking him into his 11th year at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Modric remains an integral part of Los Blancos’ midfield, and he churned out a number of top performances on their way to Champions League glory last month.
The 36-year-old’s deal was set to expire at the end of June, but both player and club remained calm that an agreement over fresh terms would be reached.

And Real Madrid announced on Wednesday that Modric has indeed penned a new contract in the Spanish capital.
Modric joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2012 for £30m from Tottenham, but struggled in his first year in La Liga.

and has since established himself as one of the best midfielders to ever play the game.
