A Juju band from Abuja, previously kidnapped along the Lokoja highway, has been freed after spending days in captivity.
The band, led by singer Adeyinka Adeboye, was abducted along with their crew while returning from a performance in Kogi State, as reported in a social media post by Adeboye on Monday.
During their ordeal, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N10 million for each member, heightening concerns for their safety. Adeboye shared images of the victims and appealed for assistance, stating, “This is so alarming. God, have mercy. @omobadejumbobeats and his band members were kidnapped on their way to Kogi from Abuja for a performance yesterday. Please, we need help as the kidnappers are demanding a N10 million ransom for each member.”

In a recent update on Thursday, popular Christian singer Adegbodu Taiwo posted a video showing the band being escorted out of a white bus.
He expressed relief, saying, “To God alone be the glory, Omoba de Jumbo beats and his crew are back in Abuja safely. No more sorrow, IJN @omobadejumbobeats.”
However, the specific amount paid to secure their release has not been disclosed.
