DEPRESSION: Kelly Hansome Open Up How Fake Life Has Led Celebrities To Depression
Nigerian Veteran pop singer, Kelly Hansome on Tuesday addressed the depression trend among celebrities of late and he attributes it to many of then trying to live a fake life.
Recall that recently, Nigerian singer, Harrysong got many worried when he put up a ‘death post’ on Instagram.
“Don’t cry when I die. Celebrate! Put up a kingmaker concert; empower more youths. I have lived. I have done my bit. Carry on in grace… TEKERO? I LOVE YOU ALL,” the singer wrote..
He however shared another post, disclosing that he is undergoing therapy for depression. His management, AlterPlate also confirmed the report. A statement released by Alterplate’s spokesman, Desmond Ike, reads;
“A big thank you to concerned fans, friends and family who have put in calls, messages and emails to check on Harrysong after his last alarming Instagram post. The truth is Harrysong has been dealing with slight emotional issues in the last few days and has been trying to manage it alone.
“But at this point we are getting him the needed help. We have been in talks with a therapist and a session has been booked. Depression is real, but when that happens, one should seek for help from appropriate quarters.”
“He has undergone therapy with an emotional intelligence trainer and practitioner, Oyinkansola Alabi. We had to book a session urgently because it had gone way beyond our control.
“We never believed that depression is real and that Harrysong was experiencing it because he is a successful artiste. We know better now. He is in a much better state all thanks to his fans and colleagues for the concern,” he noted.
