Gunners boss Unai Emery is eyeing a re-union with his former player at Valencia, Juan Mata as Jose Mourinho stalls in giving him a contract.
Juan Mata is set to join Manchester United‘s Premier League rivals Arsenal for free, according to talkSPORT.
The attacker’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has yet to make any progress with the club over a new deal.
And talkSPORT host Adrian Durham claims sources have told him Mata will leave Old Trafford in the summer to join the Gunners on free transfer.
Danny Welbeck injury will force Arsenal to speed up plans in their £45 million ($58m) chase of Lille striker Nicolas Pepe, reports the Sun.
Gunners boss Unai Emery had not planned to make any signings until the summer, but with Welbeck lost for an extended period, the club have just two senior strikers available.
Arsenal had not budgeted for a January move, and with Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also interested in Pepe, Arsenal will not be able to get him on the cheap.
The Gunners could exchange the midfielder for the forward
Arsenal are looking to sign striker Patrik Schick and may use Aaron Ramsey as a makewieght in the deal, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a new striker after Danny Welbeck suffered an injury in the Europa League, and have targeted the Roma forward for a January move.
With Ramsey’s deal set to expire at the end of the season, Schick could be signed on an initial six-month loan.
Former Arsenal and Manchester City attacker Samir Nasri is hoping to land a £5 million-a-year ($7m) deal to join West Ham, according to the Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old Nasri has just completed an 18-month ban for performance enhancing drugs and was on the radar at Everton, though the Toffees decided he did not fit the profile of player they were looking for.
Nasri also considered MLS but will not receive the salary he is seeking there and now sees re-uniting with his former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini as the best chance to secure the payout he is looking for.
Alexis Sanchez wants to leave Manchester United, per The Times.
The Chile international has been unimpressed with Jose Mourinho’s style of play and is understood to feel lonely, with only Juan Mata, David De Gea and Romelu Lukaku to call friends.
