Friday's Transfer Gossip: Ten Hag, di Maria, Rashford, Martial, Wan-Bissaka, Nkunku, Kamara

Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool player, has strongly suggested that Manchester United should part ways with their manager, Erik ten Hag, following their disappointing 3-0 loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend.

Expressing regret, Murphy believes it’s time for Manchester United to consider parting with Ten Hag, stating that the managerial role might have arrived prematurely for him.

After witnessing Bournemouth’s convincing victory at Old Trafford, Ten Hag’s team currently occupies the sixth spot on the Premier League table.

“The win against Chelsea earlier in the week might have masked some issues. However, Bournemouth exploited United’s vulnerabilities numerous times,” Murphy shared with the Daily Mail.

“Scoring three goals, Bournemouth exposed the extent of United’s struggles. This result is a clear indication that there are challenges within the team.”

“United wouldn’t want a repeat of their previous heavy defeats, especially when visiting Anfield. Their seven-goal loss there in March was significant. Another similar breakdown might prompt a change.”

“While I initially believed United might give Ten Hag until the season ends, considering their aspirations, a change sooner might be necessary to allow a new manager time to assess and implement changes,” Murphy added.

“It’s unfortunate because Ten Hag is a well-liked figure, but it seems the demands of the United role might have arrived ahead of his readiness.”
