Death of foremost Yoruba Muslim Preacher; Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello rented air on Friday, December 6, 2024. Rights and Freedom Advocates (RIFA) note that the late Sheikh Ajani Bello was known for his honest preaching which was always on current affairs and the need for everyone to strive towards paradise. He speared no one not even a leader in his truthful sermon to the point of brazenly telling a governor to halt sponsoring thugs who disrupted public peace even when other pseudo-Sheikhs were eulogizing criminals just to exploit them. The governor eventually listened to Baba and dealt with the miscreant and his boys and peace returned to town. Baba would not allow shenanigans distracted him from saying the reality. Till date, no other Muslim Preacher of Yoruba extraction could even step into the shoe of Sheikh Ajani Bello whose dedicated life was to ensure piety in all regardless of faith professed. His passion for Islam and humanity made him trained and sponsored many offspring and wards of people from diverse backgrounds.
Sheikh Ajani Bello hailed from Ibadan, Oyo State where he finally gave up the ghost after serving as a great ambassador of Islam in many states. Baba was a product of the great Mahdul Arabiyyah, Elekuro, Ibadan where he was between 1963 and 1967 for his Islamic and Arabic knowledge having developed passion for Islamic preaching at age of 10. Baba taught in schools in Oyo, Ogun and Kano states and was a former Missioner of Ansar- U-Deen Society of Nigeria. Baba extended his preaching to countries such as United States of America, United Kingdom, Benin Republic and some other countries.

Baba’s main preaching throughout his life symbolized piety, braveness, fairness and justice. As Baba left this world, his messages are left for the living as guidance. Therefore, all those who value piety and justice especially those in position of authorities are encouraged to immortalize Sheikh Ajani Bello by pursuing justice to serve as inspiration to the posterity and other preachers who have left the pristine path of their faith for undue prominence. Rights and Freedom Advocates (RIFA) suggest that popular streets or popular School in State Capitals of Western States or Kano should be named after the Sheikh. In the same vein, RIFA urge all of us to honour the Sheikh by pursuing justice, refrain from oppression and promote fairness.
As the world bid Sheikh Ajani Bello farewell after spending 84 years on earth, RIFA pray to Allah to grant Sheikh Ajani Bello aljanah firdaus
