“Additionally, in a bid to alleviate the suffering experienced by Nigerians and enhance access to essential food supplies, the Nigeria Customs Service will oversee the direct allocation of forfeited food items to the Federal Government. These items will undergo rigorous inspection by relevant authorities to ensure their suitability for consumption. Subsequently, they will be fairly distributed to ordinary Nigerians nationwide through our operational areas,” stated Adeniyi.
Although the statement did not specify the exact commencement date for the distribution process, the initiative signifies a proactive step towards addressing the prevalent challenges of food scarcity and hardship in the country.
